THE STORY OF Acerola in Vietnam

  • Acerola is a familiar fruit to Vietnamese people. Acerola fruit is grown a lot in Southern Vietnam, especially in Go Cong – Tien Giang. The soil in Go Gong land is said to be the most suitable for the fruit. The Acerola fruits grown in this land have glossy skin, firm flesh and natural sweet and sour taste.
  • Acerola fruit can be harvested 7 times, the main season of Acerola cherry fruit harvesting is from May 5 to 11. There are two kinds of acerola, one is Gò Công Aerola and one is High Vitamin C Acerola.

Benefits of Acerola

  • Enhance Vitamin C:

Acerola is extremely rich in Vitamin C. The VC content is acerola is higher than in any other kind of fruit, 34 times higher than in lemon

Because of this, acerola products are often used for preventing VC deficiency and treating some diseases such as infection or common flu. Vitamin C is also play and important role to enhance body, hair, bone and skin health

Acerola products is also used for producing Food and Beverage products as a source of natural Vitamin C, which is a healthier alternative of synthetic Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)

Apart from vitamin C, B1, A, there are many other minerals and resistant fiber (Pectin) which support the immunity can be found in Acerola products.

For this reason, acerola products are often used in producing healthy soft drink, functional beverage and food.

  • Natural source of Polyphenols:

There are 3 polyphenols found in acerola fruit: Cyanidin-3-α- O -rhamnoside (C3R), Pelargonidin-3-α- O -rhamnoside (P3R), and Quercitrin (quercetin-3-α- O -rhamnoside)

The polyphenols in acerola have been shown to moderate the absorption of sugar. Research is being conducted into the possibility that they may also help prevent the rise of blood-sugar levels.

  • Improve skin conditions:

Acerola is proven to help anti- aging by protecting skin from UV, enhance UV – resistance ability, prevent the development of fine lines, and aid for collagen production.

We conducted tests on 13 skin criteria include: wrinkles, sagging, firmness and elasticity, skink softness, sensation of fluid permeability, dryness, luster, lucidity, dull facial skin, spot and freckles, adhesion of cosmetics, pimples, overall skin tone. The result has shown that acerola have significant effect on improving skin conditions.
